Ab jetzt sind alle Tagungsbeiträge, die im Rahmen der bisherigen Kongresse verfasst wurden online auf dieser Webpage in einer Datenbank verfügbar.

Für alle, die auf der digitalen Suche nach Literatur im Naturgefahrenbereich sind, haben wir etwas Neues eingerichtet: Alle Tagungsbeiträge, die im Rahmen der bisherigen Kongresse von zahlreichen internationalen Autoren verfasst wurden, sind ab sofort online auf dieser Webpage in einer Datenbank abrufbar. Dabei wurden die älteren Kongressbeiträge gescannt und Paper für Paper als PDF-File gespeichert. Die jüngeren Beiträge waren bereits digital vorhanden und konnten direkt in die Datenbank gestellt werden. Wenn vorhanden, dann wurden auch die Kurzfassungen der Beiträge digitalisiert und in Textform in die Datenbank gestellt, um nicht nur die Suche nach Autor, Erscheinungsjahr und Titel, sondern auch nach Textteilen aus den Kurzfassungen zu ermöglichen. Nachdem die Tagungsbeiträge der Interpraevent nicht nur in Deutsch sondern traditionell auch in den Sprachen Englisch, Französisch und Italienisch verfasst werden können, ist die Suche in all den genannten Sprachen möglich. Eine detaillierte Anleitung zur Suche wird ebenfalls angeboten. Wenn Sie den gesuchten Tagungsbeitrag gefunden haben, klicken Sie auf das Textsymbol, um die Kurzfassung zu lesen, und auf das PDF-Symbol, um den ganzen Beitrag anzusehen.

For everyone who is searching online for literature in the field of natural hazards (floods, debris flows, mass movements and avalanches) we offer something new: all congress proceedings, which were published during past IP congresses and edited by diverse international authors are from now on online availabele at the IP web page. Therefore we scanned older congress proceedings and processed them as PDF file. The confernce proceedings database allows to search not only after the author, the year of publishing and a publication title, it is possible to serach after key words of the abstract too. Conference proceedings of Interpraevent can traditionally be submitted in four languages English, French, Italian and German. Hence, from now on you can search in all of this languages. Detailed information and help can be found at the web page. After you found an entry just click on the text symbol to see the absract or click on the PDF symbol to open the file.

We would like to announce the INTERPRAEVENT 2010 international symposium, which will be held in Taipei, Taiwan from April 26th to 30th, 2010. The main topic of the symposium is: 'Natural Disasters Mitigation including Floods, Storms, Debris flows, Mass movements and Earthquakes.'

This symposium is supported by Interpraevent and organised by Prof. Su-Chin Chen (Department of Soil and Water Conservation, National Chung Hsing University, Taichung, Taiwan).

Interpraevent unterstützt die Aktion "Kinder-Gefahrenzonenplan". Dabei sollen sich Schüler mit den Risiken, die etwa ein Hochwasser mit sich bringen kann, vertraut machen.

Interpraevent supports the initiative "hazard mapping for children". Thereby schoolchildren should get familiar with risks, for instance flood risks.

Kinder gelten als besonders gute Multiplikatoren, wenn es darum geht, Erlerntes, das sogar in der Schule Spaß gemacht hat, an Erwachsene weiterzugeben. Bei diesem Projekt werden Schüler im Unterricht von speziell ausgebildeten Pädagogen betreut und an einem Tag von  Experten der Wildbach- und Lawinenverbauung (WLV) und der Abteilung 18 – Wasserwirtschaft des Landes Kärnten bei einem Projekttag in die freie Natur begleitet. Dort können sie ihr Wissen in die Praxis umsetzen und sehen was passiert, wenn einmal ein Naturgefahrenereignis eintritt ...

Children are the best multipliers of knowledge if they got the possibilty to learn things which make fun even at school. At this project schoolchilds are coached by special pedagogues. For a one-day fieldtrip they are guided by experts from the Austrian Torrent and Avalanche Control and of the Carinthian Flood Prevention Service. There they bring their knowledge into praxis and can see what happens if natural hazards appear ...

The Student Poster Award consited of € 3000,- and was granted to the three best student poster contributions (€ 1500,- for the first, € 1000,- for the second, and € 500,- for the third place).

WP6 centers on pragmatic transnational approach for improvement of risk prevention & management. Based on good examples,case studies,expert hearings & workshops the transnat. network will open an integrated risk dialogue to identify most effective methods. Risk Management education modules for practicioners will then be developed & tested to increase the quality of decision making on integrated prevention & management of natural hazard risks on a regional & local level.

EXPECTED OUTPUTS:

1. Transnational compilation of good examples in risk communication, risk prevention and risk management.
2. Institutionalized efficient transnational network of risk managers taking into account climate change.
3. Insitituionalized cooperation for education/training of risk managers on a practical level.
4. New education modules for risk managers (each a 3-day training course for riskmanagers of partner regions).
5. State-of-the-art report on Adaptation of Integral Natural Hazard Risk Management in the Alpine Space to Climate Change including recommendations

ClimChAlp - Climate change, impacts and adaptation strategies in the Alpine Space.

This Interreg IIIB Alpine Space project investigated climate change scenarios and their effects on natural hazards. Results of an expert hearing are now available as folders.
