Members of INTERPRAEVENT

Besides some private individuals, only the Regional Government of Carinthia, the Republic of Austria and a few municipalities from Carinthia and private companies were members when the association was founded in 1968.

Today, members of INTERPRAEVENT include corporate bodies such as the Austrian Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Regions and Water Management  and the Regional Government of Carinthia. Several municipalities and private companies are supporting members.

From 1992 onwards, besides the Austrian Federal States, it was possible to gain many active, funding (international) members:

  • 1992 - Japan (Sabo Society)
  • 1995 - Switzerland (Federal Office for the Environment FOEN)
  • 1996 - Bavaria (Bavarian Environment Agency)
  • 1996 - South Tyrol (Autonomous Province of Bolzano, Agency for Civil Protection)
  • 1996 - Trento (Servizio Sistemazione montana)
  • 1997 - Slovenia (Ministrstvo za naravne vire in prostor)
  • 2000 - Autonomous Region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia (Direzione Regionale delle Foreste)
  • 2003 - Autonomous Region of Aosta (Dipartimento Territorio e Ambiente)
  • 2004 - R.O.C. Taiwan (Soil and Water Conservation Bureau of Taiwan)
  • 2013 - Norway (NWE - Norwegian Water and Energy Directorate)

Experts from all institutions and member countries bring great commitment and energy to their work in the different bodies (working groups, committees, advisory boards), which is often carried out on a voluntary basis. They thus achieve a constant exchange of information through the INTERPRAEVENT network, and achieve continuous development in the field of preventive protection against natural hazards at an international level.
